Feverswift tablets contain Ibuprofen and Paracetamol, a combination of pain-relieving and fever-reducing medicines.
They are used to relieve headaches, toothache, muscle and joint pain, menstrual cramps, fever and other mild-to-moderate pain.
Take with or after food and only as directed; avoid combining with other paracetamol or ibuprofen-containing medicines, and avoid ibuprofen if you have a stomach ulcer or serious kidney problems.
One tablet up to three times a day with or just after food, leaving at least six hours between doses, and no more than three tablets in twenty-four hours unless a doctor directs otherwise. Always take it with a full glass of water and never on an empty stomach, because the ibuprofen component irritates the stomach lining. Use it for the shortest time that controls the pain, generally no more than three days for fever and five days for pain without seeking advice. Never take another paracetamol product or another anti-inflammatory alongside it.
The single most important warning is not to double up. This tablet already contains paracetamol, so taking it with Panadol, a flu sachet or any other paracetamol product risks liver damage, which in overdose can be fatal and often causes no symptoms for two days. It also already contains ibuprofen, so do not add diclofenac, aspirin or another anti-inflammatory. Do not use it if you have a stomach ulcer, previous stomach bleeding, severe heart failure, severe kidney or liver disease, or asthma that has ever been triggered by aspirin or ibuprofen. Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy. Use caution if you are over 65, dehydrated, or taking warfarin, steroids, aspirin, an SSRI antidepressant, or blood-pressure tablets including ACE inhibitors and diuretics. Stop and seek care for black tarry stools, vomiting blood or coffee-ground material, severe stomach pain, or a rash with blistering.
Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from direct sunlight, out of reach of children. Keep in the original blister so the tablet is always identifiable, which matters for a combination product where accidental doubling is the main hazard. Do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
