Sara-D3 Vitamin D3 60,000 IU capsules contain Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 60,000 IU per capsule, a high-strength vitamin D supplement.
It is mainly used to prevent or treat vitamin D deficiency and supports strong bones, teeth, muscles and normal calcium absorption.
Use only as directed, especially at this high strength; do not take more frequently than recommended unless advised by a healthcare professional.
High-dose vitamin D3 capsules are taken weekly or monthly rather than daily, which is why the pack contains four rather than thirty. Take one capsule with the largest meal of the day at the interval your pharmacist or doctor specifies. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so taking it with food that contains some fat roughly doubles how much you absorb; taking it with black tea on an empty stomach largely wastes it. Mark the day on a calendar, because a weekly medicine is the easiest kind to forget or to accidentally repeat.
Do not take high-dose vitamin D repeatedly without a blood level being checked, because it is stored in body fat and accumulates. Too much causes high blood calcium, with thirst, frequent urination, nausea, vomiting, constipation, confusion, kidney stones and, over time, kidney damage. Avoid if you already have high blood calcium, kidney stones, severe kidney disease, sarcoidosis, tuberculosis or another granulomatous disease, or a parathyroid disorder. Tell your doctor if you take thiazide diuretics, digoxin or calcium supplements. In pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only the dose a clinician advises. Keep away from children, as a single high-dose capsule is not a children's dose.
Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, protected from light and heat, and out of reach of children. Vitamin D degrades with light exposure, so keep the capsules in their blister or opaque container rather than a clear jar on the counter. Do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
