How to use

Peel the wrapper, press the liner centrally onto dry underwear and smooth it flat. Change it every three to four hours, or sooner if it feels damp; a liner holds far less than a pad and is not designed for menstrual flow. Wash and dry your hands before and after. Wrap the used liner in its wrapper and bin it. Because each liner is sealed individually, keep the spare wrapped ones in your bag rather than loose. Give your skin liner-free time, especially overnight, by sleeping without one.

Important warnings

Daily liner use is not necessary for hygiene and, for some women, causes the problem it is meant to solve. Constant liner wear keeps the vulva warm and moist, and that environment favours thrush and skin irritation. Use liners for a purpose, not as a habit, and always sleep without one. A liner is not a substitute for a pad on a period day. Importantly, discharge that has become heavy, thick and white and itchy, thin and grey with a fishy smell, yellow or green and frothy, or streaked with blood is not normal discharge and needs assessment rather than more liners. Discharge with lower abdominal pain, fever, pain on urinating or pain during sex needs a clinician the same day.

Storage

Keep the pack in a dry, clean place away from humidity and dust. The individual wrappers protect each liner, so store spares in their wrappers rather than loose in a handbag where they collect dirt and moisture. Avoid keeping them in a steamy bathroom or beside perfumed products. Discard any liner whose wrapper has torn or become wet.
