Oxifast P combines lornoxicam, an NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation, with paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic that provides additional pain relief. The combination is used for painful inflammatory and musculoskeletal conditions.
It may be used for back pain, muscle and joint pain, dental pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other acute mild-to-moderate painful conditions where an NSAID/paracetamol combination is appropriate.
Route: Oral. The exact dosing instructions for the Oxifast P combination should follow the prescriber's directions. Lornoxicam itself is generally dosed at 8–16 mg daily in 2–3 divided doses, with a maximum of 16 mg/day in adults. For the 4 mg/500 mg combination, a commonly used regimen is 1 tablet 2–3 times daily, depending on the severity of pain and the patient's clinical circumstances. However, because this product also contains paracetamol, the total daily paracetamol intake from all medicines must be considered. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Swallow with sufficient water. Use for the shortest duration necessary.
