It is used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails, particularly dermatophyte infections such as tinea and fungal nail infections (onychomycosis).
Terbinafine works by inhibiting fungal ergosterol synthesis, and oral treatment should be used as prescribed, particularly because liver function may need consideration during prolonged therapy.
