Mupiban Cream is a topical antibacterial medicine containing mupirocin 2% w/w (20mg per gram). It works against susceptible bacteria commonly responsible for skin infections, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species.
It may be prescribed for impetigo, folliculitis, infected cuts or wounds and other localised bacterial skin infections.
Route: Topical/external use only. Apply a small amount/thin layer to the affected area 3 times daily. Usual treatment duration is up to 10 days, according to the prescriber's instructions. The area may be covered with a clean dressing if required. Wash hands before and after application. If there is no clinical improvement within 3–5 days, the infection should be reassessed
